She cried out for help
Lonely and scared
After she fell down
Doing what she dared
When we came to rescue
Tears washed her face
Filling up the lines of age
Wishing to be in another place
She said there was no pain
She was afraid there'd be no one
Just like in her sleepless dreams
That still are never done
Slowly she got up again
And continued on to bed
Knowing that she'll think tonight
Wishing she were dead
I know someday she'll be gone
Maybe sooner than the later
Life was so unfair to her
But she knows some things still matter
She knows that life is precious
And loves her grand kids so
She knows that life is miserable
Oh, the things she knows!
She tells me I'm still young
Don't let anything get in my way
Time, money, or even men
These things she doesn't say
I learned them from her eyes
The things that need to be learned
And in all the things that she does
She shows that life is to be earned.
**For my gramma, who left us way too soon**
Life Comes At 'cha Fast
Don't Let It Blow Past
